Overview

Completely mechanical-less Hokuyo's new challenge

Completely mechanical-less Hokuyo's new challenge

Hokuyo takes on new challenges with new technology

In collaboration with Lumotive, we have jointly developed a range sensor (LiDAR) using completely solid-state beam steering without using any mechanism. It is mechanical-less, so it has a long life and is hard to break down.

Solid state beam steering LCM

Solid state beam steering LCM
LCM (Light Control Metasurface)
Digital scanning of line light laser VCSEL Laser with liquid crystal deflection (LCM) without using any mechanical parts. Since LCM can reduce multipath interference and inter-sensor interference compared to ToF cameras, measurement is stable. It provides new value that could not be realized with conventional mechanical scanning technology.
*LCM is a unique technology patented by Lumotive.

Digital scan

Digital scan
Digital scanning compared to mechanical scanning
Flexible random scanning of resolution, detection range, and frame rate

Multiple fields of view (FoV) can be set

Multiple fields of view (FoV) can be set
Taking advantage of the features of digital scanning, multiple fields of view (FoV) can be scanned simultaneously. It is also possible to scan only a specific place or object at the same time.

Application

Application
It can be applied to AMR, AGV, 3D obstacle detection and road surface condition detection for service robots.
